□ The government and the World Scout Jamboree Organizing Committee announced on August 10 that due to the direct impact of Typhoon Khanun on Korea, the Jamboree activities being conducted in eight cities and provinces will be carried out safely primarily with indoor programs.

□ Key programs include watching performances and exhibitions, indoor sports activities, and visits to high-tech industrial sites.

○ Performances and Exhibitions: A variety of cultural and artistic experience programs encompassing both traditional and contemporary aspects of Korea will take place across the nation. Programs include the Sneakers Unboxed Seoul exhibition (Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Seoul), an orchestra performance (Suwon, Gyeonggi), exhibitions at the National Science Museum (Daejeon) and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Cheongju, North Chungcheong), and traditional Korean music performances (Jeonju Deokjin Art Hall).

○ Indoor Sports Activities: An array of physical activities have been prepared to provide Scout members with dynamic experiences, including certified Taekwondo (Asan, South Chungcheong), climbing (Wanju, North Jeolla), and Taekwondo wellness exercises (Muju, North Jeolla).

○ High-Tech Industrial Visits: Scouts will visit Samsung Biologics (Incheon), Celltrion (Incheon), and SK hynix (Icheon, Gyeonggi) with a program arranged for Scouts, who are future global talents, to experience South Korea's high-tech industry, including semiconductors.

□ Minister of Gender Equality and Family Kim Hyunsook plans to visit the facilities where the Scouts are participating in indoor activities to ensure seamless program execution and assess any potential typhoon-related damages.

□ Meanwhile, on August 9, Scouts, who have been relocated to eight cities and provinces including Seoul, continued their World Jamboree activities by participating in diverse cultural and experiential programs offered in each region.

○ In Seoul, they joined the Welcome to Seoul Dance Night, aimed at promoting cultural exchange and harmony through music, and engaged in Namsan Dulle-gil Trekking to enhance their physical fitness while enjoying the urban landscape and natural surroundings.

○ In Incheon, Scouts from the UK and Belgium visited The Memorial Hall For Incheon Landing Operation, expressing gratitude and paying respects to the sacrifices of United Nations (UN) veterans.

○ In Daejeon, participants visited the National Science Museum and Daejeon Expo Aquarium. In North Jeolla, Scouts from various countries, including Portugal, Bangladesh, Egypt, and Ecuador, participated in the Mini Jamboree, utilizing existing off-site Jamboree programs such as the forest rope play at Gosapo Beach.
